Australian Agritech Awards: Best Early Stage Agritech Company 2025
At Katapult Design I contributed to the conceptual design and early development of HiveKeepers’ Micro Honey Harvester — a world-first system enabling honey to go from hive to jar in under five minutes: fresh, clean, and mess-free.

Working with the Katapult team and beekeepers, I helped turn the vision into reality. Through user research, field testing and iterative design, we developed a modular cassette system with custom geometry that respects bee behavior while enabling efficient, wax-free extraction.
My responsibilities included complex CAD-modelling the cassette frames, early prototyping, and refining the physical system to ensure it functioned smoothly . All while balancing ergonomics, manufacturability and bees’ welfare.
The HiveKeepers frame is designed to drop straight into a standard hive box, matching the exact dimensions of a traditional frame. Beekeepers can simply swap in the cassette frame without modifying their existing setup. Each cassette is removable, so you can harvest only what you need and leave the remaining honey in the hive for the bees.
